This is a journey to the life of a young Chinese LGBTQ+ individual. There is sadness, confusion, loneliness, exploration, understanding, acceptance, and growth. Throughout the exhibition, you have a glimpse of the life of a Chinese LGBTQ+ member, and how he changes throughout his experiences.

Growing Up

These great LGBTQ+ films inspired me and helped me realize who I am when I was a kid.
Carol, Call Me by Your Name, Happy Together, Brokeback Mountain...
Films capture words and preserve them, allowing them to transcend time and space

Words in Maps

Words from my past similarly transcend time and space, impacting me in various ways.
I use mapping to represent how I understand the subjectivity and relationships among words, time, and space. This mapping approach is conceptual, as it helps illuminate the relationship between everyday practice, the formation of desires, and disappointments in the social realm.

Connecting the Maps

Connecting maps from different places where I've lived allows viewers to see relationships between individual mappings. Concealing the words helps focus attention on the interactions between pathways from different time periods.

Individual Maps

Turn Words into Power

Words from the maps transform into beautiful stickers, symbolizing how I at last overcame the negative impact of others' comments.
